We'd heard a lot of good things about The Grounds so had to check it out. Anyone who loves markets, flowers, coffee and food will be obsessed. Not to mention its own little animal farm hosting local celebrity 'Kevin Bacon", probably the biggest pig you've ever seen!
Located in a former industrial precinct from the 1920's, it has remained true to its heritage and recreates a 1920's atmosphere inside and out. The main restaurant being inside, equip with an onsite bakery and patisserie. With a large garden and take away cafe outside. It even has a child's play area! Perfect.

We headed there early on a Saturday morning to avoid the crowds. Obviously.
The garden-to-plate menu in The Cafe is filled with all the usual's: smashed avocado, blackberry and apple waffles, fresh filled omelettes, etc; along with kid-friendly choices. The drinks menu is made up of organic teas, seasonal blend and filtered coffees, freshly-squeezed juices and house-made sodas.
The markets each Saturday and Sunday, sell everything from fresh fruits to artworks and home wares. And of course the Florist. Stocked with the most vibrant, market-fresh flowers you’ve ever seen, all beautifully-wrapped in recycled paper to take home. We picked up a amazing stem from a Cotton plant, which goes amazing on the concrete kitchen table. Also, it doesn't need water as its already dried so it will literally keep for weeks and weeks.
